Revisiting the Mahindra's Massive SUV the Alturas G4!

Mahindra has taken a solid step-up by launching the new-gen Rexton as Alturas and also they now entered a new segment of large Suv spaces but are they successful in achieving the customer's satisfaction without any downsides from the vehicle?

Let us look into it with what changes should Mahindra do to increase the sales of it.
1. Engine: The 2.2 lit engine has enough power to compete as the rivals are at relatively the same 170-190 bhp despite having bigger 2.8-3.2 lit engines but Mahindra has overcome that problem by tuning it to its highest possibility. It would be even better if they could incorporate a new engine around 2.4-2.8 lit ones and not because of the rivals but for the weight it has and refinement is good but at cities, slow-moving areas and all the clatter will feel noisy and disturbing so in that area they should take care of it. The gearbox also needs a re-design as the small button like operating for the manual gear shifts is really really irrelevant and they should either add paddle shifters or at least removing that button and better implementing the usual gear style will be better.
2. Design: Yes! It looks great but only till the second row and the third row is really tight and feels restricted and for this they should design the C-pillar with a glass that creates an airy feel when people sit there and coming to headlamps the design looks aggressive enough but it would be even better if they could add the all-LED lighting like MG did because if you pay a hefty 33 lakhs for a big SUV and if you realize that it doesn't have the LED headlights & only HID means its disappointing right?

3. Interiors and Exteriors: As I have mentioned above the C-Pillar design should be re-designed in a way that it creates an airy feel when we sit inside and also the ac vents placement is improper which should be placed above like either door mounted or roof mounted because that way the passengers at back will feel chilled and with the current one its really ridiculous. The Middle row seats should be improved on under-thigh support and the weight of the vehicle also should be decreased and yes! Its a ladder frame SUV but having 80% of steel body is great but reducing it to 5-10 percent will help in dynamics and also better ride quality than it is currently. There are some h/w & s/w glitches happened at most of the reviews happened till now and they should be re-visited and corrected. Apart from these the ground clearance should be reduced at least to some 5 or 8mm because getting in & out is a bit tough so it should be given a thought in my opinion.

Conclusion: I think Alturas is the only one in this segment that offers more than what we pay but these drawbacks are making it lack some so what I would like to convey is that they should release a facelift correcting all these and also adding some new tech with pricing it a bit more will also be considered because no other SUV is this big in features right! And correcting the mistakes will create an even big step-up for Mahindra.

Hyundai Aura! The Sporty compact sedan is out now.

Hyundai India has launched the all-new sporty looking compact sedan 'Aura' which replaces the Xcent in Hyundai's India line-up and also the details of the car are below. Engines: This Time they have launched the car with bs-6 compliant engines both in petrol and also diesel and now they have the power and torque figures more or less the same as it's engines are even more refined now. So, the engines offered are 1.2lit petrol and 1.2lit diesel. There will be 2 Petrol and 1 Diesel among which the petrol is 1.2 that churns out 83Ps and a 1.0lit engine that churns out 99P of power and the diesel produces 89Ps of power. The Gearbox options are as follows: 1.2Petrol gets a manual/amt while the 1.0 lit gets only a manual one and the diesel gets both manual/amt. So, options are decent to look as well considering the price range it will be in but a CVT would be great like we have seen in the Amaze. Design: Coming to the Design, recently they have released the sket...

Renault Duster! It had its chance.

Welcome to CarsReboot!  There are many people who love Duster for its proportions, ride quality and also the sense of space it has inside it but now it has lost its charm to some extent with its other rivals and it fell into the category of only petrol with no AWD but it still has its chance to become a bigger player if Renault could do some key changes in it. 1. Engine: The 1.5lit was a very good one but now the company has shut it due to the upcoming BS6 regulations and it now replaces both the 1.5lit Diesel and petrol with a 1.3lit petrol engine which is BS6 compliant and the power figures have changed a bit. If they really needed some strong sales then introducing a 1.5lit BS6 compliant diesel and petrol engines with auto gearboxes in both fuel options would have made it a strong seller for Renault. 2. Interiors: Many might have felt this but I intended to stress about this particular one because the interiors in Duster were not that appealing and the reason is...

2020 Tata Harrier! What has changed?

Tata has revealed its covers of the All-new Harrier AT with a fully-powered 2.0lit Engine now and here's a quick review of what has changed in its newer versions and Should you buy one?  It seems Tata has taken the feedback very seriously and the changes they've made in the new one are visible and also a good thing to hear as well. Let us run through the details quickly without wasting much time. 1.Engine:   Tata Motors are now offering the full house 2.0lit BS6 engine with the Harrier and also the power figures are 170Ps and 350Nm of torque now. There's a new auto-gearbox that works well and it is actually sourced from the Hyundai's Tuscon gearbox as that's also having the same 2.0lit engine. The Manual gearbox is also having the same amount of power and torque the automatic has but the good part is that the enthusiasts of the manual gearbox can enjoy it as Tata has worked well on the clutch to make it light and also simple to drive. The Mileage figures o...
