Correcting what mistakes will make Harrier a True SUV in its segment?

Harrier! This Name and vehicle from Tata have shaken a few companies when it was showcased at the AutoExpo and when it came to life as the actual product, most percentage of what was shown in the Expo reflected mostly. So, as we know most of the common details of this Big SUV, let us discuss some key changes which will make it a True SUV among its competition.

Which is the best SUV in the segment?
When you consider all the mid-size SUV's in the Indian market like Harrier, MG Hector, Kia Seltos, Creta and others which are under a price bracket of 15-20 Lakhs on-road price, you can't define one as a proper SUV as Harrier doesn't have some while MG Hector despite having so many features the appearance it has is more likely to be an MPV and when you come to Seltos, it is more likely a small-sized one when you compare it with Hector and Harrier. By this, you can understand that Harrier has proportions and also more chances of becoming a True SUV in its segment but provided they do some changes inside and also outside.
Ok! Now, what are the changes that are required to be done in Harrier's facelift to make it a True SUV in its class?
Well! There are quite a few but let us jump into one by one and make it simple and clear.

1. Exteriors: By now you would have guessed what's the problem? Yes! The Huge mirrors and also the thick A-pillar which intrudes the vision of the drivers while making a U-Turn and it actually creates a blind spot there. This one must be surely corrected either by making the mirrors thin or by placing them a bit below. Is that all? No! There are other bits as well.
If you keenly observe the front part of MG and Kia, they have done things very clean, clear and also modern which is not reflected when it comes to Harrier. Why I mentioned this is, the headlamps, bonnet area, the overall silhouette of the front part of the Harrier is good for now but it isn't that appealing or Modern like the Hector or Seltos. So, some subtle changes like redesigning the front bumper area and also the design of the headlamps must be changed a bit so that this will take the car to a whole new level. Rear-end of the Harrier has no issues and it is more modern but a button which is visible to the outside would be appreciated but it is good, for now, no major issues there.
2. Tires: Most of the time, it is the tires and the alloy design which makes an SUV look rugged, appeal more in a car. So, they must make them look rugged and also bulkier so that it will take the car's look to a whole new level.

3. Interiors: Some key features like the Electric driver seat, reclining rear seats, Sunroof, more responsive and less laggy infotainment system, mood lighting like in the Altroz and also the central console must be changed a bit and also if they place the parking brake as normal one means more space can be freed in its place and also the Noise insulation must be done as much as possible because the engine is for sure a noisy one and they should make the car well-insulated inside so that a customer can feel that he has bought a luxury car and it drives smooth and refined. The A-Pillar was very thick and it could be corrected as well. Charging points were a problem that is there in the current version so it should be corrected and also if they install a wireless charging pad means, it will, even more, make the car look rich as this kind of add-ons will improve the cabin experience as well.
Apart from all these, there is one more key capability without which an SUV will not become complete and that is 4WD or AWD. Tata will offer it in Gravitas and may be offered in the Harrier AT version as there is no clear information if the AWD is going to be offered in Harrier or not!

To Conclude this, all these might make you feel like we are asking for more but these are very less when compared with Kia's list and these should be added so that it can stand apart from what it is now. So, that's about the changes I thought of adding and if you have any better thoughts on it, feel free to share.

Hyundai Aura! The Sporty compact sedan is out now.

Hyundai India has launched the all-new sporty looking compact sedan 'Aura' which replaces the Xcent in Hyundai's India line-up and also the details of the car are below. Engines: This Time they have launched the car with bs-6 compliant engines both in petrol and also diesel and now they have the power and torque figures more or less the same as it's engines are even more refined now. So, the engines offered are 1.2lit petrol and 1.2lit diesel. There will be 2 Petrol and 1 Diesel among which the petrol is 1.2 that churns out 83Ps and a 1.0lit engine that churns out 99P of power and the diesel produces 89Ps of power. The Gearbox options are as follows: 1.2Petrol gets a manual/amt while the 1.0 lit gets only a manual one and the diesel gets both manual/amt. So, options are decent to look as well considering the price range it will be in but a CVT would be great like we have seen in the Amaze. Design: Coming to the Design, recently they have released the sket...

Renault Duster! It had its chance.

Welcome to CarsReboot!  There are many people who love Duster for its proportions, ride quality and also the sense of space it has inside it but now it has lost its charm to some extent with its other rivals and it fell into the category of only petrol with no AWD but it still has its chance to become a bigger player if Renault could do some key changes in it. 1. Engine: The 1.5lit was a very good one but now the company has shut it due to the upcoming BS6 regulations and it now replaces both the 1.5lit Diesel and petrol with a 1.3lit petrol engine which is BS6 compliant and the power figures have changed a bit. If they really needed some strong sales then introducing a 1.5lit BS6 compliant diesel and petrol engines with auto gearboxes in both fuel options would have made it a strong seller for Renault. 2. Interiors: Many might have felt this but I intended to stress about this particular one because the interiors in Duster were not that appealing and the reason is...

2020 Tata Harrier! What has changed?

Tata has revealed its covers of the All-new Harrier AT with a fully-powered 2.0lit Engine now and here's a quick review of what has changed in its newer versions and Should you buy one?  It seems Tata has taken the feedback very seriously and the changes they've made in the new one are visible and also a good thing to hear as well. Let us run through the details quickly without wasting much time. 1.Engine:   Tata Motors are now offering the full house 2.0lit BS6 engine with the Harrier and also the power figures are 170Ps and 350Nm of torque now. There's a new auto-gearbox that works well and it is actually sourced from the Hyundai's Tuscon gearbox as that's also having the same 2.0lit engine. The Manual gearbox is also having the same amount of power and torque the automatic has but the good part is that the enthusiasts of the manual gearbox can enjoy it as Tata has worked well on the clutch to make it light and also simple to drive. The Mileage figures o...
