2020 Tata Harrier! What was expected and what was given?

Welcome to CarsReboot! Today I am gonna discuss how and what features could have made Tata Harrier a better pick for everyone in the segment despite its competition offering so much tech in their vehicles and selling them for a price that is less than Harrier and are able to hold their sales for much time. Recently we have witnessed the launch of the new 2nd gen Hyundai Creta which was the segment leader for sometime back then and the price of it actually undercuts the Seltos and also its competition when it comes to the high-end models.
Enough of the details and let us get into the topic right away discussing each and every aspect in brief.

Engine: There are actually no complaints here as they have listened to the reviews and also changed their approach towards the changes that could be done in the Harrier and they've upped the power to its highest and released the 2.0lit FCA engine with 170Ps of power and 350Nm of torque which is a good thing and also there's a good amount of noise insulation done inside the cabin except the tire noise which could have handled well anyway its not a big deal breaker as well.
Design: This is another aspect in which Tata seems taken some good care because the introduction of two new colors in the vehicle, new alloys and also the exteriors look good enough for an SUV of this size but what could have changed are the Interiors because even though the exteriors intimidate everyone the interiors should also do because that's the place most of the owners are gonna spend. So, keeping this in mind Tata should have made some more changes in the cabin which could have impacted more in its sales because the changes which were done are mostly the requests of the car reviewers and also most of the customers.
Here are some solid changes which could have made Harrier a strong seller for Tata despite its competition offering so many things.

1. Ventilated  Seats: This is one such feature that in current iteration would represent a car's premiumness and this is missing in Harrier.

2. Infotainment System: There's nothing wrong with it and at the same time there's nothing exciting about it because they haven't added any kind of tech like vehicle telematics, geo-fencing or voice command operations or remote controls or anything like that. It has covered the essentials but the font design, the quality of touch response and other such things could be improved because people will be interacting mostly with their infotainment system for calls, music, navigation and not only that but the size or shape of it is not that sharp to look at is what I feel and do comment your opinion on it. If the Infotainment was more responsive and if it was looking attractive then these are such factors that would have changed the overall experience inside a car's cabin.

3. Powered Tailgate: This is also a feature that would make things effortless for the passengers because it is lessening the work for them and not only for that but this feature is there in Hector which is Harrier's biggest competition and offering this would have increased the premium quotient of Harrier to a whole new extent.

4. Electronic parking brake: This is also another feature which makes things effortless because even though the aircraft styled handbrake is looking nice, sometimes it's just a bit too hard to operate and excavating that space to something else and making a normal handbrake would at least have done some part of the Job so either of this would have impacted it to some extent in my opinion. I don't understand one point and i.e, Tata offered this feature in Gravitas but missing it in its flagship SUV and don't know why Tata did this.

5. Instrumentation Cluster: The Instrumentation cluster is not that sporty or not that appealing for a car of this size because having either normal cluster with a decent sized MID or going with a full-digital cluster like in F-Pace would have surely upped the greatness of Harrier and after all its Tata's flagship model and filling it up to its gills is only gonna increase its sales nothing is going in waste right!.
6. Connected Car-tech: This would not be anyone's bigger priority but having this kind of tech would simply make things easier to handle inside a car and as Tata has made their own one named "IRA" could have implemented in it but don't know why they haven't done it yet.

7. Reclining rear-seat: Not only me but every Tata owner know that the rear seats will be cushioned well but the angle at which they were placed in Harrier is not having any complaints as well but being able to recline them a bit more would give anyone experience of relaxation in long journeys.
8. A New Petrol-Engine: It's on its way to the Market but it'll take some time for it to be released as there's a lot going on the virus thing and this could even get delayed more and at least they could do somethings right in that at least as the news showed till now say that engine is going to be the 1.5lit engine from FCA again but we'll have to wait for the official confirmation.
If Tata could incorporate many more features in that then it would even become a best seller for them as Future has more scope for petrol.
9. Offroad Tech: I don't want to discuss this but an SUV means an all-rounder and Harrier with fully loaded and some off-road tech like we've seen in Hexa would have made it a true meaning of SUV but nothing's stressing about it either so we can leave it or have it which depends upon the requirement and sales analysis.
10. Front parking sensors, Rearview cameras: I actually thought of discussing less about it but if something is competing then it must be equipped well to win one and in that perspective, I thought of including the Front parking sensors, 360-degree cameras, and Kia is offering them and why not Tata is what I thought.

Keeping all these in mind, one could get a doubt like if Tata is gonna install all this then it would reach to a price point of more than 20Lakhs and that's true but minding the proportions, the boot capacity, features like sunroof, auto-dimming rearview mirror, new design and all wouldn't make it a next-gen but adding this kind of tech would certainly do and there will be better choice-making for customers while deciding which vehicle to buy and Jeep proved that point by throwing every possible feature in their SUV and why couldn't Tata then?

Thank you for reading this long post and do not forget to comment down on what features you expect from Tata Harrier apart from the ones I mentioned and see you in the next post.🙂

Hyundai Aura! The Sporty compact sedan is out now.

Hyundai India has launched the all-new sporty looking compact sedan 'Aura' which replaces the Xcent in Hyundai's India line-up and also the details of the car are below. Engines: This Time they have launched the car with bs-6 compliant engines both in petrol and also diesel and now they have the power and torque figures more or less the same as it's engines are even more refined now. So, the engines offered are 1.2lit petrol and 1.2lit diesel. There will be 2 Petrol and 1 Diesel among which the petrol is 1.2 that churns out 83Ps and a 1.0lit engine that churns out 99P of power and the diesel produces 89Ps of power. The Gearbox options are as follows: 1.2Petrol gets a manual/amt while the 1.0 lit gets only a manual one and the diesel gets both manual/amt. So, options are decent to look as well considering the price range it will be in but a CVT would be great like we have seen in the Amaze. Design: Coming to the Design, recently they have released the sket...

Renault Duster! It had its chance.

Welcome to CarsReboot!  There are many people who love Duster for its proportions, ride quality and also the sense of space it has inside it but now it has lost its charm to some extent with its other rivals and it fell into the category of only petrol with no AWD but it still has its chance to become a bigger player if Renault could do some key changes in it. 1. Engine: The 1.5lit was a very good one but now the company has shut it due to the upcoming BS6 regulations and it now replaces both the 1.5lit Diesel and petrol with a 1.3lit petrol engine which is BS6 compliant and the power figures have changed a bit. If they really needed some strong sales then introducing a 1.5lit BS6 compliant diesel and petrol engines with auto gearboxes in both fuel options would have made it a strong seller for Renault. 2. Interiors: Many might have felt this but I intended to stress about this particular one because the interiors in Duster were not that appealing and the reason is...

2020 Tata Harrier! What has changed?

Tata has revealed its covers of the All-new Harrier AT with a fully-powered 2.0lit Engine now and here's a quick review of what has changed in its newer versions and Should you buy one?  It seems Tata has taken the feedback very seriously and the changes they've made in the new one are visible and also a good thing to hear as well. Let us run through the details quickly without wasting much time. 1.Engine:   Tata Motors are now offering the full house 2.0lit BS6 engine with the Harrier and also the power figures are 170Ps and 350Nm of torque now. There's a new auto-gearbox that works well and it is actually sourced from the Hyundai's Tuscon gearbox as that's also having the same 2.0lit engine. The Manual gearbox is also having the same amount of power and torque the automatic has but the good part is that the enthusiasts of the manual gearbox can enjoy it as Tata has worked well on the clutch to make it light and also simple to drive. The Mileage figures o...
