Hello guys! Welcome to Cars Reboot! And today we're gonna discuss the Hybrid powertrains which have the chance of holding over the market.
Hybrid powertrains were there in the automobile markets for quite some time but the recognition they needed didn't seem to be that encouraging in India and nonetheless Indian customers weren't that attracted to them much either as there were only limited cars like Camry, Lexus, Ciaz being a mild hybrid and others didn't seem to be much appealing with their overall offering and in other aspects for customers but the recently launched new Toyota Camry seems to change the opinion about Hybrids as it looks very futuristic with its design, being built on Lexus ES300h platform, its a stunning design for sure.
But the key point here is that not only in India but even abroad also there seems to have lost a balance in the engines like diesel despite having that power and torque were not much eco-friendly but costs us less while petrol ones being the pure engines delivering us the rush of performance but lacking in fuel efficiency and cost us more than diesel(petrol price). Electrics well! We really need a good amount of patience and proper planning for our trips if we're gonna go outside the city to any far places but the instant electric power is something one can't forget and the hybrid powertrains which we are discussing are seems to be a good balance at least until these fuels get completed because in that way, we can be both eco-friendly as well as we have all the performance we need in our hands itself.
As the engine runs, the battery gets charged on the go and there's no need for you to stop at any charging station to charge your vehicle and this is really a handy feature but if at all a company needs to get this project of introducing hybrids in all segments, then only we can see the drop in pollution and companies, in my opinion, should come forward to bring this change.
But there's a small problem here and that is the overall cost of the vehicle is gonna be a bit more than a regular diesel or petrol ones which is making things not that much favourable for hybrids. Even though its a concern, once the change occurs, I believe companies will reduce the battery prices as there'll be an extensive application of them in the vehicles but we need to wait what it turns out to be in the future.
Even though this may or may not happen but a strong alternative other than electric is needed because of the way of living we have got used to and its a combination of both conservative and also comfortable life. (I mentioned this on minding the huge amount of middle-class people in India who dream of having a car that satisfies them and their families, so please don't take this in any other manner)
