Are diesels vanishing?

Hello guys! Welcome to CarsReboot!  Today we're gonna discuss a new topic which is based on increasing petrol engines and decreasing diesel engines.

Currently in India, automobile companies are bringing more and more petrols and in parallel, some companies are bringing diesels also which are either less powerful than the petrols or sometimes no diesel engine at all.

Why is this happening?

In India, diesel and petrol prices were getting hikes on a daily basis and if this continues, someday we might see them at nearly 90 - 100 Rs/lit which I'm not at all exaggerating by any means because everyone can see the truth on their screens itself while on the otherhand, companies are bringing their BS6 petrol engines which some companies are able to maintain mileage of the vehicle more or less the same compared to the previous versions while some companies aren't able to manage this and are resulting in big decrease in mileage which is ranging from 2 - 5 kmpl. If this kind of situation continues, once again the low sales could hit automobile market and might result in sales drop again and the sales could experience a dip.
You might get a thought like "Why would people stop purchasing vehicles if the companies reduce diesels?". I have an answer for that too.

In this situation, companies are neither bringing more EVs nor providing us with higher mileage vehicles compared to the BS4 ones which could let down the interest of some buyers and apart from that companies like Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, VW group and other luxury brands gradually eliminating diesels from the list and replacing a lesser cc petrol engines with higher tuning tricks could work temporarily but in the long run, they could loose the customers which no company wants to happen at any point of time.

There's a solid reason for companies to kill diesels gradually because they pollute the environment much than what petrol engines do and this is not a good sign for sure but taking this as chance and increasing both fuels prices substancially isn't a good thing to do despite the huge drop of demand for fuel in the overseas markets. So, I hope the companies will find a proper solution regarding this. They must either completely bring an EV revolution or should handle the fuel prices and engine pollution that's happening due to the diesels.

For this, I don't say that companies shouldn't release petrols at all but if they wish to bring EVs in full swing, they must build infrastructure and must put their maximum effort in bringing more useful and feature rich vehicles in all segments which will take sometime. So, companies must perform their part of effort to bring the fuel prices down so that they can experience the sales increase because everytime people or customers aren't the only ones who should demand the govt to reduce the prices to some extent as the prices have seen a significant increase which isn't good for companies regarding their sales.

To conclude, a solution for this is that they must either bring the EV revolution sooner or its going to be another crisis which'll hit the market if this situation continues. Why I am emphasizing more on diesels is because comparably there are high preferred engines than petrol powered ones in a market like India where people require mileage to save their hard earned money, use them as taxies, travelling distances and so on.

So, companies must either try to decrease the fuel prices or increase better mileage providing and less polluting diesel engines so that the patch of pollution can be handled for sometime but it might not be the permanent solution either. There is a small one and i.e, Bio-Diesel which comprises of less chemical composition compared to the original diesel we're extracting from the crude oil we get. So, companies and govt must work in parallel to find a proper balance between pollution and fuel prices so that it'll be beneficial for both, else customers will create a crisis in sales for automobile companies which could result in sales dip.
Thank you for reading this post till the end and what do you think about the fuel hike and decrease in diesel engines? Do you think the sales will improve or fall down?

Hyundai Aura! The Sporty compact sedan is out now.

Hyundai India has launched the all-new sporty looking compact sedan 'Aura' which replaces the Xcent in Hyundai's India line-up and also the details of the car are below. Engines: This Time they have launched the car with bs-6 compliant engines both in petrol and also diesel and now they have the power and torque figures more or less the same as it's engines are even more refined now. So, the engines offered are 1.2lit petrol and 1.2lit diesel. There will be 2 Petrol and 1 Diesel among which the petrol is 1.2 that churns out 83Ps and a 1.0lit engine that churns out 99P of power and the diesel produces 89Ps of power. The Gearbox options are as follows: 1.2Petrol gets a manual/amt while the 1.0 lit gets only a manual one and the diesel gets both manual/amt. So, options are decent to look as well considering the price range it will be in but a CVT would be great like we have seen in the Amaze. Design: Coming to the Design, recently they have released the sket...

Renault Duster! It had its chance.

Welcome to CarsReboot!  There are many people who love Duster for its proportions, ride quality and also the sense of space it has inside it but now it has lost its charm to some extent with its other rivals and it fell into the category of only petrol with no AWD but it still has its chance to become a bigger player if Renault could do some key changes in it. 1. Engine: The 1.5lit was a very good one but now the company has shut it due to the upcoming BS6 regulations and it now replaces both the 1.5lit Diesel and petrol with a 1.3lit petrol engine which is BS6 compliant and the power figures have changed a bit. If they really needed some strong sales then introducing a 1.5lit BS6 compliant diesel and petrol engines with auto gearboxes in both fuel options would have made it a strong seller for Renault. 2. Interiors: Many might have felt this but I intended to stress about this particular one because the interiors in Duster were not that appealing and the reason is...

2020 Tata Harrier! What has changed?

Tata has revealed its covers of the All-new Harrier AT with a fully-powered 2.0lit Engine now and here's a quick review of what has changed in its newer versions and Should you buy one?  It seems Tata has taken the feedback very seriously and the changes they've made in the new one are visible and also a good thing to hear as well. Let us run through the details quickly without wasting much time. 1.Engine:   Tata Motors are now offering the full house 2.0lit BS6 engine with the Harrier and also the power figures are 170Ps and 350Nm of torque now. There's a new auto-gearbox that works well and it is actually sourced from the Hyundai's Tuscon gearbox as that's also having the same 2.0lit engine. The Manual gearbox is also having the same amount of power and torque the automatic has but the good part is that the enthusiasts of the manual gearbox can enjoy it as Tata has worked well on the clutch to make it light and also simple to drive. The Mileage figures o...
